At First Mother Farms, our intention is to safeguard and revitalize Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), recognizing Indigenous women as the primary stewards of this invaluable resource. We are dedicated to the protection, intergenerational transmission, and celebration of TEK, understanding its vital role in sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and biodiversity conservation.

Through community-driven programs, we aim to empower BIPOC women to reconnect with their ancestral farming practices, provide them with platforms for leadership in ecological stewardship, and nurture the preservation of culturally significant seeds and knowledge. Our work intends to foster an environment where TEK is respected, protected, and integrated into global sustainability frameworks and climate adaptation strategies.

By emphasizing the inclusion of Indigenous women’s voices in decision-making, advocating for legal protections, and fostering collaborative networks, we seek to dismantle the systemic barriers that prevent TEK from reaching its full potential. We believe that when Indigenous women lead in the protection and sharing of TEK, the health of our planet and the cultural heritage of Indigenous communities will thrive for generations to come.
